Match Report - 24 Sep 2011, Ross High Rugby Football Club 1ST XV beat Trinity Accies
Ross High 34 v 13 Trinity Academicals
Ross High jumped several spots up the East 1 table after a fine bonus-point win over Trinity Accies on Saturday.
The visitors have struggled so far this season and, though Trinity put up a good fight, Ross were able to fill their boots, running in five tries in an effective performance.
It was a field day for the front-row, with scores from prop Chris Tinlin (two) and hooker Steven Henderson adding to a strong showing at scrum time, with second-row and skipper Bruce Stoddart also getting in on the act by touching down himself.
Fly-half David Hughes got Ross's other try, while full-back Michael Patterson played his part with an accurate performance with the boot, converting three of the five tries as well as knocking over a penalty.
Even a sin-binning for scrum-half Barry Scott couldn't derail the Ross train on its way to a good home win.
